Today in "the Rich Get Richer"

Posted by Alison Hallett on Fri, Apr 26, 2013 at 10:14 AM

I hope you all saw the great documentary Queen of Versailles, about kajillionaire couple Jackie and David Siegel, whose plans to build the largest single-family home in the US (flabbergastingly dubbed "Versailles") were put on hold when the market crashed.

New York Magazine just checked in with the Seigels, to find they've bounced back nicely:

The postscript to their story underscores another lesson of the financial crisis: There are fewer consequences for the rich. Though scores of Westgate Resorts employees lost their jobs, the company has recovered enough that by last winter, the Siegels resumed construction on Versailles.

There is no justice in this world.
