I love Pete Holmes. I love his Nerdist-network podcast You Made It Weird, I love his standup, and I'm sure I will love his new Conan-produced talk show when it premieres on TBS in the fall.

Holmes is in the Craig Ferguson school of standups: Goofy, excitable, and capable of high-wire riffs that you kinda can't believe he pulls off. Holmes is coming to the Aladdin Theater at the end of June; it probably would not hurt to get tickets early for this one, because it's going to be a great show and it's going to sell out. (This is for you babies who whined we didn't give you enough notice on the Professor Blastoff show.)

I interviewed Holmes yesterday (he was super fucking nice), and while I haven't transcribed the whole thing yet, here's what he had to say about his Portland show:

"I love Portland, it's one of my absolute favorite cities in the world, it's such a great comedy town, and I'm very, very excited to come up. Chris Thayer's gonna be there, Ian Karmel is gonna be there, and I promise a silly, sleepover-esque treehouse fun night of nonthreatening comedy that's surprisingly dirty but won't offend you."

"The search continues for a feeling." <3 <3 <3

And for more time-wastery, here's Thayer interviewing Holmes on the local Spicy News Network after eating super spicy peppers, 'cause that's a thing. (The phrase "I wanna blow Mr. Freeze" has never been said before in all of human history.)
