Here's a hell of a sentence:

Veteran scribe Michael Green (Green Lantern) is moving from superheroes to replicants, as he's in negotiations to write the sequel to Blade Runner for Alcon Entertainment and director Ridley Scott's production company Scott Free. (Via.)

There's a really remarkable, really long documentary on the Prometheus Blu-ray that charts the making of that film; featuring Scott and just about everyone else involved with the production, it's a fascinating look at the decisions Scott made, which usually ran counter to what everyone else was advising/hoping/working on. It's a weird dynamic, because that same iconoclastic mentality is likely what made Scott's Alien and Blade Runner so amazing, but now, decades later, there's a sense of him either not knowing or being profoundly uninterested in what it was about those films that made people—that still makes people—react so strongly.

So. Blade Runner 2, everybody! Possibly coming after Scott's next, the I'm-getting-excited-because-Cormac-McCarthy-wrote-it The Counselor, and possibly either before or after Prometheus 2, the movie that nobody knows anything about.
