Here's the camera dump from last week's review of Tasty N Alder. A few key photos are missing, like of their Steakhouse Sandwich (clearly intended to make Arby's roast beef sandwiches look like photocopies of carpet folded inside burger rolls), but you can see that in the original review. As stated there, this is a solid and surprisingly affordable spot, long on imagination and satisfaction, with just a few little minimalist experiments that need editing (see the jam, below). But I'm not going to moan about my tublet of jam much longer. Enjoy the photos.

Moqueca de Peixe ($19) - A light coconut and piperade broth with densely-textured, strongly-seasoned, perfectly-cooked white fish.

Many more after the jump!

The Gibbs Bowl ($6) - A great value on their mid-day menu. Clean flavors and just big enough to satisfy.

Korean Fried Chicken, $10. This KFC is beautifully crisp, with flavors that remind me of what General Tsos chicken would taste like if done by a master.

Brick Chicken. At $17, this overly-blackened breast and drumette were one of a very few underwhelming offerings.

Monte Cristo, $7. An open-faced improvement on the original. I feel like the original is designed to make you sick, so this scaled-back, realistic version gives all the flavors without the fried stodge.

21 Day Aged Grilled Ribeye, $15. Served austerely. Buttery, rich meat with a clean, beefy flavor.

The only other disappointment: $6 for this ramekin of warm strawberry jam sans bread product.

French fries, fried in washimi wagyu tallow. ($4) If youre going to waste valuable alimentary real estate on potatoes, they should at least be given the royal treatment like this. Fantastic side for a steakhouse, which Tasty partially is.
