Well, Laika's Next Movie Looks Charming

Posted by Erik Henriksen on Tue, Jul 2, 2013 at 12:21 PM

Local 3D stop-motion animation studio Laika has been hard at work the past few years, and their output has been admirably ambitious and interesting, if mixed—on one hand, there was the excellent, acclaimed Coraline, but the other, there was ParaNorman, which wasn't quite the amazing follow-up some audiences had been hoping for. But now there's an early teaser for their next feature, The BoxTrolls, which won't be out until September of 2014. The BoxTrolls takes its story from Alan Snow's children's book Here Be Monsters, takes its title capitalization cues from seaQuest DSV, and looks incredibly charming and pretty and clever. 2014 seems like a very long time to wait.
