After an impressive 23 years, longtime downtown lingerie shop Jane's Vanity is shutting its physical retail location at 521 SW Broadway in order to concentrate on their online presence, with "capsule collections hand-selected and placed in a variety of different retail locations," plus the promise of increased activity on the trunk/fashion show events front. Citing a tough retail economy and an increase in big box stores downtown, the move is stated as a way to preserve the integrity of the mostly European, mostly really expensive merchandise they specialize in, and while the in-store shopping experience for anything wearable is, as far as I'm concerned, always superior, it's good to know that local shoppers on the site will be able to have their orders come shipping-free.
