Steven Alan has officially announced their Portland store, in the new Union Way development on SW 11th and Stark. If you've been to New York, you've probably crossed paths with this place: they have 10 locations across Manhattan and Brooklyn, plus a few in LA, San Francisco, and Connecticut, and single standing shops in Atlanta and Boston. As much as chain stores tend to give me the yips, I'm into this. Steven Alan's in-house designs for men, women, and kids are solid and wearable, and almost entirely made in the US.

Outside of their own lines, which are extensive, the Portland location will also carry things from lines like Acne, Band of Outsiders, and Filson, which are all currently available (um like at the Filson store) within a few short blocks—I'd expect to see a bit of brand re-shuffling at your favorite downtown boutiques this fall as a result. They'll also have some local names in there, like Portland Apothecary, Pok Pok (maybe the drinking vinegars?), OLO Fragrances and Takara jewelry. It's projected to be open by this Friday, so have a looky-loo if you're in the neighborhood.
