COMIC BOOKS—It's time for another increasingly popular and joyously obsessive edition of Comics Underground—the quarterly gathering for comic book lovers and the artists who write and illustrate for them. This time around founders (and Mercury wage slaves) Erik Henriksen and Alison Hallett welcome Eisner Award-winning Greg Rucka (Stumptown, Whiteout), Kory Bing (Skin Deep), and Terry Blas (Briar Hollow) who will be performing their awesome work... live. WSH
The Jack London Bar, 529 SW 4th, 8 pm, $3-5

MUSIC—Yup, Fitz and the Tantrums were just in Portland back in May, helping headline the Rose Festival's RoZone performances. But while the Los Angeles neo-soul group has more than enough energy to rock the music festival scene, you want to see them in a smaller venue— and the Wonder will do nicely. Pro tip: Just watch co-vocalist/badass tambourinist Noelle Scaggs the entire time. DVH
w/Hunter Hunted, the Colourist; Wonder Ballroom, 128 NE Russell, 8:30 pm, $20-25, all ages
