The weekend's big books news comes courtesy of a forthcoming documentary and book about JD Salinger, both succinctly titled Salinger, which claim that at least five new Salinger books are scheduled to start being released as early as 2015:

One collection, to be called “The Family Glass,” would add five new stories to an assembly of previously published stories about the fictional Glass family, which figured in Mr. Salinger’s “Franny and Zooey” and elsewhere, according to the claims, which surfaced in interviews and previews of the documentary and book last week.

Director Shane Salerno spent 9 years researching the film and companion book (co-written by David Shields), which promises details of Salinger's early life, first marriage to a possible German spy, and of course, details on the unpublished manuscripts, the release of which Salerno says would be "one of the biggest publishing events of the year, if not the decade.”
