GRAVITY I always feel wary recommending that people see certain films in 3D or "on the biggest screen you can," because in Portland, most of those big screens are run by Regal Cinemas, which charges a goddamn fortune to see something on one of their IMAX-branded screens. HOWEVER. Gravity is a remarkable, beautiful, jaw-clenchingly intense move, and it's definitely something you want to see—sorry—in 3D and on the biggest screen you can. So here's a compromise: One of the theaters it's screening at in town is the great Roseway Theater (7229 NE Sandy), which has it screening three times a day in 3D and once a day in 2D. Even better: It's only $7 for 2D or $9 for 3D, which literally half of what Regal will charge you. The picture and sound at the Roseway are great, and Gravity is a goddamn technical marvel. So see Gravity this weekend, and see it at the Roseway, and we're all in agreement, yeah? Cool.

BAD MILO Bad Milo, on the other hand, Dirk, says, is something you should not see. Probably ever. It is a movie about a butt demon. And yes, I realize the difference between a butt demon and a space alien (DO I EVER), but every time Bad Milo comes up I just end up thinking about Spewey. Ah, good ol' Spewey.

PORTLAND LESBIAN & GAY FILM FESTIVAL Alison takes a look at the depth and breadth of the long-running fest, which offers pretty much something for everyone. Seriously! From elderly people finding community to suppressed Mormons, the PLGFF has you covered.

RUNNER RUNNER Elinor is a big Justin Timberlake fan! She's an even bigger Ben Affleck fan! And even she didn't like this movie, which stars Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck.

There's more, as ever, in Film Shorts—including Herzog's Nosferatu the Vampyre, Kurosawa's Ran, Zompire: The Undead Film Festival, David Sedaris' C.O.G., AND a screening of Tlatelolco, Verano del 68 that benefits the Portland Latin American Film Festival. Phew. Here are your Movie Times.
