I snoozed on this comedy show because All Jane No Dick is also happening this weekend—and because it's been weirdly under-promoted; the only reason I know about it is because local comic Andie Main kindly alerted me—but it's a good one. (So good I miiiiight skip out on part of the opening night of All Jane. Maybe.)

Tonight at Backspace, LA comics Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani are in town for a rare great all-ages comedy show. They're the hosts of the weekly, wildly popular standup show The Meltdown at LA's Nerdmelt Theater, a showcase that has featured literally every comedian you've ever heard of. (Louis CK, Maria Bamford, Marc Maron, Donald Glover, and so on and on.)

The two recently snagged a Comedy Central show based on The Meltdown that'll feature standup and backstage footage, filmed in their great little theater in the back of Meltdown Comics. The pilot was directed by Portland comedy super-fan Lance Bangs, who could only be cooler if he were married to my favorite member of Sleater-Kinney. Oh wait.

Anyway, if you haven't heard of these guys already, you will soon.
