Well, this is ridiculously cool: On Sunday, as a benefit for Live Wire, actor/storyteller Stephen Tobolowsky (Ned Ryerson!) and comedian Dana Gould will join the cast and crew of Live Wire and 40 lucky guests for brunch at Bar Bar. And if that weren't appealing enough (Stephen Fucking Tobolowksy! Dana Fucking Gould!), Toro Bravo's John Gorham is in on the action: The kitchen will be preparing Piperade with Baked Eggs from the new Toro Bravo cookbook (absolute no-brainer Christmas present for any serious food-nerds on your shopping list, BTW; I have it, it's great).

Tickets are $50, which is exceptionally reasonable for a fundraiser that includes top-notch food, a free mimosa AND a free Tasty Bloody Mary, and some legitimately awesome celebrities to hang out with. But if holiday shopping and December's imminent/terrifying heating bill have left you feeling strapped, Live Wire is running a giveaway on their website where in exchange for a little bit of social media shilling, you'll be entered to win two tickets. Details here.

If the idea of actually speaking to Tobolowsky or Gould terrifies you, there are still tickets available to Live Wire's end-of-season show on Saturday, where the performer/audience dynamic will be restored to its natural balance. Also on the bill: Storm Large, Rodney Hicks, Ophira Eisenberg*, Lindy West, and Blitzen Trapper. Details here.
