I was about to give a plug to Q Center's biggest annual fundraiser masquerade, "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," and lo: Though tickets to the event are fundraisingly high ($200 for a place at a VIP table), supporters of this beloved local institution (which offers an amazing wealth of resources for the LGBTQ community, especially its youth) have already snatched up tickets to the main event, making this the second year in a row the event has sold out.
However, the fancy pants black tie dinner and auction is followed by an all-out dance party (with DJ Gino Mari), at a much more accessible $25 ticket price, and are still on sale separate from the main event, and if you're looking for a party for next Saturday night I can't think of a better choice for supporting this community as a member and/or ally while shaking out some of that midwinter lethargy. The party is next Saturday, Feb 8, at Castaway (1900 NW 18th), with the after party kicking off at 9:30 pm. (And of course you don't need a party to make a donation anytime.)
