Here's Edward Snowden Speaking at SXSW

Posted by Paul Constant on Mon, Mar 10, 2014 at 1:02 PM

Actually, with all the reverb from the microphones, a more accurate headline for this post would be "Here's Edward Snowden-owden-den-en Speaking-eaking-king-ing at SXSW." But I know a lot of you are interested in Snowden, and hopefully you'll be able to muddle through this video until someone gets a workable transcript up online:

Reports from SXSW indicate that Snowden said he would absolutely do this all over again if he had the choice. And Sarah Gray, live-blogging at Salon, writes:

Snowden is also addressing our misallocation of intelligence, with its emphasis mass surveillance, explaining that, “If we hadn’t’ spend so much on mass surveillance, we might have caught [the Boston Bombers].”
