New Steven Soderbergh/Clive Owen Cinemax Project, Ahoy!

Posted by Wm.™ Steven Humphrey on Mon, Mar 10, 2014 at 1:59 PM

YAH, YAH, YAH... enough True Detective! It's time for a new celebrity vanity cable project to get obsessed with... and could it be... The Knick? Starring Clive Owen with every one of the 10 episodes directed by Steven Soderbergh, The Knick is scheduled to debut on Cinemax this summer. Plot? Cinemax says:

Set in downtown New York in 1900, THE KNICK centers on Knickerbocker Hospital and the groundbreaking surgeons, nurses and staff, who push the bounds of medicine in a time of astonishingly high mortality rates and zero antibiotics.

Here's the first promo for the series.

Creepy! Kind of looks like a cross between American Horror Story: Asylum and Grey's Anatomy. Anyway, bully for Cinemax for getting into the quality cable show race... especially since I still remember them mostly for stuff like this. (Thanks for killing/saving porn, internet!)
