Norm Macdonald is often weirdly underrated by smart people—maybe because of the slurry, drunk-uncle quality of his delivery, maybe because sports. He's a brilliant standup, though, in that Louie CK, "I sure am thinking about my own inevitable death a lot at this comedy show" sort of way. (That is what we call an Alison Hallett Endorsement.)
Norm's at Helium this weekend, and it's going to be one of those rare comedy shows where you don't have to cringe your way through a single opening act: Portland's Amy Miller and LA's Sean O'Connor are great young comics I would—and in fact, have—go see on their own. (They're both in the Bridgetown Comedy Fest next month, too.)
