It's Happening Tonight!

Posted by Alison Hallett on Thu, May 29, 2014 at 3:59 PM

STREET FAIR—Summer's upon us, friends! Let's gather on NE Alberta, listen to music, ogle crafts of varying quality, and watch as Mayor Charlie Hales tries to rein in Last Thursday for the second year in a row. Tonight's festivities end an hour earlier than past events. At 9 pm sharp, got it? And no illegal drinking! DVH
NE Alberta from 15th to 30th, 6-9 pm, FREE

MUSIC—The Victory Academy School for Children with Autism is, surprisingly, not the name of the newest Decemberists album. It's an extremely worthy beneficiary for the Portland band's generosity. The group, which has been on hiatus for close to three years now, will perform their 2002 debut, Castaways and Cutouts, in its entirety for two nights, with Laura Veirs and Sallie Ford taking turns opening. CF
Crystal Ballroom, 1332 W Burnside, Thurs 8 pm (w/Laura Veirs), Fri 8 pm (w/Sallie Ford), good luck finding tickets, all ages
