The Mercury produces a lot of stuff... super fun events like this and this, awesome ways to save you money, our own ticketing service, the best goddamn arts guide in the city, a number of blogs, aaaand... what else. OH YEAH! This.

And today we're adding a new service for our readers: It's called True Parent... a quarterly magazine devoted to regular working parents (maybe like you?) who keep it real. Instead of hyper-focusing on new ways to worry about making your kids look cute and appear happy, True Parent keeps the focus on the parents—and ways to keep you sane while retaining your individuality. And it's fun, too!

Here are just a few of the topics we cover in the first ish of True Parent:

News—local and national, with an emphasis on education, health... anything that affects parenting.
Advice—tips from the experts on keeping yourself sane, sexy, and healthy. And this issue even includes some parenting advice from Dan Savage!
True stories—Real stories from real parents about creatively solving their real-life challenges.
Get a Sitter!—A carefully curated calendar devoted to parents who are are looking for fun things to do on date night. And there's also "Drag Your Kids to This," featuring cool suggestions of things to do with your kids that won't make you want to blow your head off. (Plus restaurant recommendations, too!)
And of course, Comedy—There's a section called "Dangerous Parenting." Say no more.

You'll find the first issue of True Parent in select issues of the Portland Mercury distributed all over town today, and in 250 drop spots around the city. Still can't find one? Email us here, and we'll put you on the right path. (And of course, if you'd like to advertise... that can be arranged.)

Hate paper products? Visit True Parent on the super information highway interweb here.

So if you're a parent, check out True Parent... we created it just for you, because you deserve it.
