Stumptown has released a new travel kit called The Rambler for those seeking to make good coffee wherever they are. The kit includes an Aeropress, a Porlex mini hand grinder, two enamel mugs, 12 oz of coffee and a bag for it all, specially designed by Portland-based Wood & Faulk. The price of $185 might raise some eyebrows, though a lot of that will be for the bag, which is made of quality canvas, leather and brass. Perhaps a Christmas gift for the coffee enthusiast who has everything?

Meanwhile, over at the Ocean Air Cycles blog there’s an example of a rather different travel coffee kit put together by a touring cyclist and tested on the road. At its heart is a Caldera Keg that can actually boil water (something seriously lacking in The Rambler). Interestingly the kit also includes the Porlex, which seems to be the portable grinder of choice. It looks like a lot of stuff, but it fits together nicely and is compact enough to fit into a bike handlebar bag.
