GOOD MORNING, BLOGTOWN! Logs on the fire fill me with desire to see you and to say, that I wish you Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, too. LET'S GO TO PRESS.

In case you missed it yesterday on Blogtown, protestors met for a civil meeting with Portland Police Union boss Daryl Turner following his ill-thought out statements blaming demonstrators for fanning the flames of hatred against cops, and supposedly causing the shooting deaths of two NYC officers.

And here we go again: "An 18-year-old black teenager (Antonio Martin) has been shot dead by police at a gas station in a suburb of St Louis, Missouri (that's a few miles from Ferguson)." This time there's video, and the victim was apparently armed.

Meanwhile a man who was shot by police on Highway 101 has died, following a very confusing set of circumstances.

A mistrial has been called in the trial of an ex-Beaverton police officer accused of raping a 5-year-old girl with a pencil... after a juror who read a newspaper article about the case. (CUE INFURIATION WITH OUR FUCKED UP JUSTICE SYSTEM.)

An Oregon man sells his girlfriend's mattress—with the girlfriend's cat hiding inside. (I hope he knocked $20 off the asking price!)

A blow against cyber-terrorism! The Interview will be shown at four theaters locally and Sony also plans on releasing it on YouTube as well. (Because if someone blows YouTube up, it's not the end of the world, right? Maybe they'll just blow up the comments section.)

The FDA is lifting their ban on gay men who donate blood—but insists they can't have sex for a year prior? WHAT. Are they going to check their "gay sex punch cards"?

ISIS has captured a Jordanian fighter pilot who was shot down during an United States-led coalition mission.

Rush Limbaugh opines that actor Idris Elba can't play James Bond because he's black. He also helpfully adds, "I know it's racist to point this out." THAT'S PROGRESS, FRIENDS.

Now here's what's going on in your neck of the woods: Have yourself a rainy little Christmas Eve.

And finally, here's a golden oldie from 2012 which I love trotting out every year at this time because it is nothing less than GODDAMN DELIGHTFUL. Happy holidays, Blogtownies!
