Interested in spending the day chomping on chocolate samples for fifteen bucks? Then your dream can come true at ChocolateFest 2015 held at the Convention Center from January 23-25. Over 60 chocolate vendors from the North West and beyond will be in attendance (there’s a full list here), each offering tastings and the chance to buy some to take home. Also on hand will be over a dozen wineries, including Hip Chicks, Abbey Creek and Barefoot, demonstrating how chocolate and wine pairs exceptionally well. Saturday and Sunday include a number of cooking demonstrations (chocolate ravioli with fresh chocolate pasta anyone?), talks on the business and manufacture of chocolate and film presentations. ChocolateFest 2015, Oregon Convention Center, 777 NE MLK, January 23, 4–9 pm (21+ only), January 24, 11 am–6 pm, January 25, 11 am–5 pm, $15/$25 (discounts available), chocolatefest.org

And something else for chocolate fans: Trailhead Coffee Roasters have partnered with new “bean-to-bar” chocolate maker Ranger to open Cup and Bar by Stark’s Vacuum on MLK, which is (you guessed it) a coffee and chocolate tasting room. Trailhead already has a reputation for sustainability and Ranger works in a similar fashion, ethically-sourcing cocoa beans from Nicaragua and Peru. Along with coffee and chocolate offerings there will be a light food menu as well as wine and beer; there will also be opportunities to tour the production facilities as well. Cup and Bar, 118 NE MLK, open March 1
