Last week, I gave fashion/wearable art designer Noriko Kikuchi's presentation tonight a mention, with a focus on the production company, RAW, through which she is being showcased. And I'll say it again: artists of any medium should take a closer look at some of the questions surrounding the organization before deciding to participate with or support it.

However, the quality of Kikuchi's work should not be lost in the shuffle, and it's probably going to be worth braving whatever awaits at Holocene to check it out, so as a special supplement to this week's Sold Out column, contributor Katie Guinn interviewed the designer/artist who recently moved to Portland after having lived in Beijing, Japan, Florence, and New York. Check it out here, and catch Kikuchi this evening at RAW: Grandeur, Holocene, 1001 SE Morrison, Thurs March 5, 6-10 pm, $15-20.
