Baby steps: As of March, it's become a little bit easier to begin a business in sewing, jewelry making, or screen printing. ADX stands for "Art Design Portland," and with the opening of their craft lab, the Cube, they're taking bigger steps in fulfilling the "art" portion of that name's promise.
ADX has functioned as a fantastic resource for the city's entrepreneurial makers and small manufacturers, including its related Portland Made project, which seeks to unify the identity of all things made in the city, collectively branding them with a location-based mark of quality, à la "Made in Italy." ADX has become known particularly for its resources in the realms of metal and wood. It supplies machines and workspace for collective use, and hosts a range of classes, business mentorship opportunities, and more.
