Three Degrees, the restaurant at the RiverPlace Hotel, has just started running an outdoor pop up on the waterfront. Called TD’s, it’s centred around a grill and a 10-seat counter (there is some table seating too) where executive chef Thomas Dunklin serves up a changing menu, starting this month with ‘Tacos and Tequila’. Judging by what was on offer at a preview event the tacos are generally well made and creative. The jerk chicken taco ($4) was paired with a lovely mango salsa, while the adobo salmon ($5) came with a lively jicama cucumber relish.

The blue cheese in the smoked brisket taco was something of a surprise, but it worked well with the Serrano salsa. There was a vegan option, smoked seitan with snap pea kimchi and almond milk crème, which was the least successful—it was a little disjointed and the seitan was a bit pokey. Though not on the menu a burger is available by request. As well as beer, tequila and mescal, TD’s also offers craft cocktails; the watermelon margarita was first rate and came with a lovely chunk of spicy fruit. Overall, with the location and river view, it has the makings of a good lunch or after work drinks spot for the summer. TD’s, 1510 SW Harbor Way, noon-8 pm daily, until October
