Last night's three-segment presentation of the latest clothing from Lindsey Reif's Reif line couldn't have gone more smoothly. Beginning with spring/summer, moving into REIFbasik, and ending with fall/winter, I love the effect of the runway setup at Rontoms, wherein you first catch sight of a striking young woman as she strolls past the large front windows, turning all the heads in the room as she enters the sunlit room. It's especially baller when you have models doing so in the skimpy bodysuits and briefs of the basik line, which surely brightened the commute of many a passing car on E Burnside. Sorry not sorry.

Reif's silhouettes are deceptively simple but rendered in appealing fabrics and made interesting with a restrained hand in the details. In spring/summer this means a mix-and-match palette of light blue chambray and linen in black and white. An over-sized smocky vest makes an appearance in both spring and fall collections (the latter in darker denim wash), and might be my pick for the next Reif classic (following the booming popularity of her headband/turbans). Another thing to get your hands on: one of the nubby, long, lightweight cardigans that comes with a built-in scarf (shawligan?)! I love the modularity of Reif's designs, and the wisdom of her focus on the essentials.

Hit the cut for shots of everything, and do not miss tonight's Adam Arnold presentation at the Canton Grill! Note that it's a bit later than the other shows—doors at 5:30, show at 6:30) to give you more time to beat the eastbound traffic. I think it will be well worth it… in fact I'll let Arnold's own Facebook post from last night do the talking:

If you're on the fence about attending my show tomorrow at the Canton Grill, (or maybe you can't talk your boss into leaving early) as part of the Mercury's Open Season series, let me say that recently it has come to my attention that sometimes my work can be too challenging or weird, and that makes people uncomfortable. Well, GOOD! When was the last time you made a change in your life for the better because you were comfortable and satisfied with it as it was? Being uncomfortable is the hors d'oeuvre of inspiration! I am honored to make people uncomfortable, and I hope to really deliver in the lounge of the Canton. Of course, if you are the type of person who likes to play it safe, then by all means stay far away from SE 82nd between 5:30 and 7, tomorrow night. Otherwise, it will be my pleasure to serve you a generous helping of WTF?! Including collaborations with master light and liquid artist, Kevin Noonan, and ingenious beat synther, DJ Beyonda. And two show-inspired cocktail specials (The Polyester Summer and Windex) with sponsor, Eastside Distilling. You can buy your tickets in advance, here.
