Your first chance to bike the Tilikum Crossing

Riders: start your engines! Wait, I think I'm doing this wrong. I'm new here, remember?

But really, Sunday is the 20th annual Providence Bridge Pedal... Now with one more bridge! Where there were 10 bridges to cross, this year the Tilikum Crossing is ready for its debut in the event. Get those tweeting thumbs ready, but be quick about it, because organizers warn that there will be NO STOPPING on the bridge.

Don't fret about that, though, because from 1:30 to 4:30 pm you can walk across and take all photos/selfies/videos you'd like during the People's Preview of the Tilikum Crossing.

There are several options for how far riders can go—14 to 37 miles—and different prices for each ride. Check out the routes and prices here. Kids ride free, but the kids-only ride is sold out. For those who don't want to ride, you can hoof it across the Tilikum Crossing on six miles instead by participating in the Providence Bridge Stride.

As you can probably imagine, the bikes and walkers (but no dogs; they're not allowed) are going to snarl bridge traffic on Sunday morning. Here's a handy list of what's going to be screwed up and when.

You know what else is happening this weekend? The Bite of Oregon. Bonus perk for participating in the Bridge Pedal is that you get free admission to Bite of Oregon. It's a good thing, because 37 miles is probably going to make you hungry, even with the Fremont Bridge breakfast the ride organizers provide.
