Regular attendees of the semi-annual Fade to Light fashion shows know that Bryce Black likes to bring the house down. He's been responsible for some of the most show-stopping moments in the event's history, like getting professional dancers to infiltrate the runway, not to mention the high-drama tendencies of his actual clothing, which relishes in the theatrical, the club-bound, and the genderqueer.

Black is yet again among the designers presenting tonight at the Crystal Ballroom, and he shares a bit about what he has in store this go around:

The collection was inspired by the idea of finding a place of peace, or as Prince would say, "bathing in the purple rain."

I have pulled from a variety of nostalgic childhood references like Old Navy Fleece, Baby Bomber "skater jeans" and the Rappin' Rockin' Barbie.

You can expect my usual play with volume and texture but the garments this time are all made of fabrics that have been dyed and distressed all by hand. It is a softer color palette than you have seen from me before.
