If you haven't seen it already, there was this headline published today in the New York Post:

Attached were pictures of the Keep Portland Weird sign, average looking people (identified in the caption as "hipsters") sitting outside Stumptown, and a homeless person sleeping on an overpass. However, the article itself was provided by the Associated Press—which many dailies use to beef up their pages, rather than do their own reporting—and was actually a pretty fairly unbiased story of Portland's growth and troubles, which we've reported on extensively here, here, and here. This AP story makes one passing reference to a person who says it's no longer possible to have a part-time job in Portland and afford living here—which the NYP twisted into that click-baity title.

SO HERE'S THE AMUSING THING: That very same story ran in several national news outlets... let's check in on their headlines!

From the Seattle Times:

Look at those hipsters!!
  • Look at those hipsters!!

Color me surprised. Anyway if you want to read this story, please click on any news source OTHER than the New York Post.
