The Foggy Notion (3416 N Lombard)—the North Portland queer-friendly rock den named for a Velvet Underground deep cut—is closing this week. According to a post on the bar's Facebook page, this Friday, December 18, will be your last chance to get a drink or a pierogi or roll some Skee-Ball.
The little bar that could which we lovingly call The Foggy Notion will be closing its doors on December 19, 2015. It's been an incredible 5 years....from epic Bent dance parties to all the incredibly talented local and touring bands we have hosted.
The bar is closed today (it's typically closed Mondays) but will be open the rest of the workweek to bid farewell. It has been host to some great shows over the years, with national bands and plenty of Portland bands, too. I saw Philly jangle-twee pop band Literature put on a great set there last October as well as several local acts. As yet another small venue to go under and neighborhood fixture, the Foggy Notion will be missed.

The Foggy Notion's grand finale will take place this Friday, December 18 at 8 pm. There will be a white elephant gift exchange and a dance party with DJs Weinerslav and Pee King.
