We're with the Commission on Presidential Debates: Tomorrow night's scheduled debate is ON, McCain or no McCain. (Hey Commission! We've got a rubber chicken we can overnight to Oxford, Mississippi, if you need something to put behind McCain's podium in his place.)
Meanwhile, our debate watching party is also on! We'll be a Roots Organic Brewing, the same spot where we watched Obama accept the Democratic nomination last month. That event was packed; plenty of folks saw the crowd and broke off to form splinter speech-watching parties at nearby homes.
But check this out: Roots just opened a large new event room, where there will be plenty of space for all you beer-loving political geeks. And we'll be inaugurating Roots' new big TV with the debate (so if McCain does show up, please refrain from angrily throwing beer glasses at the screen).
The debate starts at 6. Get there early to snag a spot and a beer before the action starts. Roots is at 1520 SE 7th, near Hawthorne.

Question for the blogtown locals... I'm excited to see the debate tonight and know of plenty of places showing it live. But... for Saturday night, anyone know any good bars that show HBO fights? Steve 2lb Forbes, a PDX local who grew up fighting at the Dishman, is fighting for the welterweight title! I'd love to watch it but don't have HBO, or a TV for that matter...
