This Week's Mercury Music Section

Another week, another Mercury music section to flip through while you slip on that cow outfit of yours. Whatever happens, just don't get arrested, okay?

Please, oh, please listen to this new David Banner track posted below. Despite promo photos that include both ATVs and automatic weapons, Banner transcends his hiphop peers and creates some seriously inspiring rhymes that accurately diagnose our nation's ills in a way that so few can.
LISTEN:

David Banner - "When You Hear What I Got To Say"

It's hiphop, but it's not. Oh boy. Welcome to the confounding world of Why?.
LISTEN:

Why? - "These Few Presidents"

Icelandic elves rejoice! Sigur Ros gets happy. There is hope for those of us who sing in Hopelandic.
LISTEN:

Sigur Ros - "Gobbledigook"

I don't think I could describe High Places better than this line: "David Byrne and Brian Eno's My Life in the Bush of Ghosts, Panda Bear's Person Pitch, and a four-tracked, indie-pop version of M.I.A.'s Kala filtered through wet sandpaper and sugar."
LISTEN:

High Places - "The Storm"

But wait, there's more: Cary journeys deep into the sound explorations on the latest record from Dragging An Ox Through Water, while I chat with the bouncy (literally) rock of Reporter.
LISTEN:

Dragging An Ox Through Water - "The Unbearable Dumbness of Being E"

Reporter - "It Could Work Out"

End Hits: Burt Sugar said to put $50 on Biden KO'ing Palin in the 3rd round.
