I'm bummed about the sale of Larry O. He is athletically gifted, and has improved his technical game a lot in his two years here (when I first saw him, in a preseason match in Corvallis in '07, I thought, "Go home ya bum?" He was how do you say ah yes "shitty." He has gotten very much less shitty since then). Plus he's just the most likable guy on the team, and even had a fan club of little girls! I was very excited to see how he'd do in year three, but c'est la soccer.

Taka underperformed massively last year, yes, but a) he puts butts in the seats (how many Japanese tourists did we meet last year?), and b) he scored what is probably the greatest goal I have ever personally seen scored by the Timbers. I'm optimistic he'll have a better season with what looks like an improved squad around him.

As for Higgins: he's solid and versatile and hard-working, and I don't mind having him back on the squad.
