I look forward to this movie, but I don't expect it to be anywhere near as ingenious as Basterds, where the back story which was conveyed entirely in foreshadowing was actually what the movie was really about. Perhaps it was the late Sally Menke who's masterful editing made it such a brilliantly told story.

It's mixed for the big screen. You have to consider it in context of the film. Here's my favorite scene from my favorite Western with great silent acting and magnificent score.

Once Upon A Time In The West (1968)
Director: Sergio Leone
starring: Claudia Cardinale
score: Ennio Morricone
there's no question that Tupac's vocals are too loud. as are the couple bits of dialogue thrown in. indeed, "the mashup feels imbalanced", to say the least.

and perhaps i'm wrong in this, but 'a cappella' always brings to mind something a bit more musical and melodic than Tupac's monotonous blathering here.

that being said, i'm sure this track will be hugely popular.

anyway, just in case we weren't sure if any of James Brown's songs have ever been properly raped, now we know.

i'm excited about the film, though.
